Bacon presents WCMH meteorologist Jym Ganahl with a Senate resolution in recognition of his final weather forecast

COLUMBUS - State Senator Kevin Bacon (R-Minerva Park) today honored WCMH Chief Meteorologist Jym Ganahl as he prepares to deliver his final weather forecast. Bacon presented Ganahl with a resolution on behalf of the Ohio Senate in recognition of Ganahl’s career achievements.

Ganahl became the nation's youngest weather forecaster in the country at age 17. Nearly a half-century later, he is concluding his career as a meteorologist after serving central Ohio for 37 years. He started at WCMH in 1979 after working as a weather anchor in Waterloo, Iowa.

"As Jym delivers his final forecast today, I join my Senate colleagues in thanking him for his contributions to our community and wishing him a smooth transition to the next phase of his career," Bacon said.

Ganahl's final weather forecast is scheduled for today, Thursday, September 1.
