State Senator Bill Beagle (R–Tipp City) is pleased to announce the Ohio EPA’s new grant application opportunities for the Ohio Environmental Education Fund.  Potential applicants can view guidelines online now for the spring and summer 2014 grant cycles.
“Continually pursuing environmental advancements through educational projects is of vital importance to the growth and sustainability of Ohio,” said Beagle. This grant is open to any group, company, entity or individual with ideas on how to educate the public about current environmental concerns.”
Those interested in the grant should plan to submit a letter of intent, including a short description of the proposed project, by March 4, 2014 and a complete application by March 11, 2014.  OEEF staff will normally approve the letter of intent and assign a grant application number within one business day so that applicants can begin entering their information into the OEEF grant service.  The summer grant cycle deadlines are July 8, 2014 and July 15, 2014 respectively for the letter of intent and the grant application.
The 2014 OEEF grant guidelines are centered on the Ohio EPA’s regulatory priorities and current environmental areas of concern.  The four targeted areas of focus for potential applicants are projects on: the use of innovative storm water management practices, the reduction of air emissions, the importance of habitat restoration efforts and nutrient management practices.
More information can be found at:  The Ohio EPA also encourages prospective applicants to contact the OEEF staff at (614) 644-2873 or to discuss project ideas and request staff review of draft proposals.
