Columbus -
State Senator Bill Beagle (R- Tipp City) today announced that he has been appointed to the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood by Senate President Tom Niehaus (R- New Richmond). The 20-member panel is tasked with increasing public awareness of the critical role fathers play by funding statewide fatherhood programs, making policy recommendations regarding fathers and engaging the community. The commission is also responsible for organizing a state summit on fatherhood every four years. "Children whose fathers are actively engaged in their lives are more likely to succeed in school and other areas of life, so it is critical that we do all we can to support Ohio's fathers," said Beagle, who prior to being elected to the Ohio Senate created a Web site focusing on the needs of stay-at-home dads in the Dayton area. "I am honored to be named to the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood and look forward to working with my colleagues on how to best advocate for fathers throughout the state." In addition, Senator Beagle also serves on several Senate standing committees, including the Education Committee, the Financial Institutions Committee, the Insurance, Commerce and Labor Committee and the Ways and Means and Economic Development Committee.
Senator Bill Beagle represents the 5th Ohio Senate District, which encompasses Miami County and portions of Darke and Montgomery counties. For more information, please visit
