STATEHOUSE -

State Senator Bill Beagle announced today that his initiative to streamline and rebrand Ohio’s job-placement services, Senate Bill 2, has passed the Ohio Senate.

Jointly sponsored with State Senator Peggy Lehner (R–Kettering), the legislation rebrands all of Ohio’s county One-Stop job centers under the state’s OhioMeansJobs umbrella. This change will allow the county One-Stop centers to more efficiently steer job seekers to the approximately 100,000 job openings currently posted on OhioMeansJobs.com.

“Senate Bill 2 is another great step forward in Ohio’s ongoing effort to streamline and simplify our job training and placement systems,” Beagle said. “The OhioMeansJobs website is a powerful tool that is helping people find work across the state. By utilizing it throughout our local workforce system, we ensure scarce dollars are being used as efficiently as possible.”

The bill now moves to the Ohio House of Representatives for further consideration.
