Senator Brown Joins Lucas County Children Services For Wear Blue Day!
Day serves as a reminder that child abuse is preventable

Today, Democratic Whip Edna Brown (D-Toledo) and staff joined Lucas County Children Services for Wear Blue Day. This day serves as a reminder that child abuse is preventable. According to the agency, the goal is to get people from all walks of life to demostrate their commitment to protecting children from maltreatment by wearing blue on this day. 

In 2011, more than nine out of every 1,000 children in the United States was a victim of abuse or neglect. In Lucas County in 2013, 952 children were victims.
