COLUMBUS– State Senator Dave Burke (R–Marysville) today honored Makayla Dull, the 2013 Division II State Girls’ Golf Champion. Makayla is a junior at Lakota High School and is the first individual from Lakota to win the Division II girls state golf title. She won the championship by five strokes.

COLUMBUS — State Senator Dave Burke announced that two projects in Northwest Ohio have been awarded Job Creation Tax Credits in support of expansion projects at National Machinery and the Rexam Beverage Can Company that are expected to create 90 new jobs and more than $4 million in new annual payroll. The credits were approved at a recent meeting of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, which approved assistance for 15 projects across the state, resulting in the creation of more than 1,300 jobs and the retention of 2,600 others.

State Senator Dave Burke announced today that the Development Financing Advisory Council has approved a $2 million loan for Veyance Technologies, Inc. located in Marysville. The loan will be used to purchase machinery and equipment needed for Veyance to expand its manufacturing capacity and meet customer demand. Veyance has committed to creating 15 new jobs and retaining 398 others as a result of this project, and will also fund the balance of the $5 million in machinery and equipment costs.

The Ohio Senate today appointed Dave Burke as the senator for the 26th Senate District, which includes Crawford, Logan, Marion, Sandusky, Union and Wyandot counties as well as portions of Ottawa and Seneca counties. He replaces former Senator Karen Gillmor, who resigned to join the Ohio Industrial Commission.
