COLUMBUS—State Senator Dave Burke (R-Marysville) this week announced the creation of 55 new jobs and an investment of more than $8,600,000 in the Central Machinery Company (also known as CenMac Metalworks) located in Marion, Ohio. The jobs come as a result of plans to expand their facility which performs laser cutting, CNC machining, robotic and manual welding, and stamping and plasma cutting.

"It is always encouraging to see continued job creation and investment in our community," said Burke. "As lawmakers, it is a top priority to encourage our business owners to continue to grow, and I applaud CenMac Metalworks for bringing these additional manufacturing jobs to Marion."

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.438 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project. A family-owned manufacturing company, CenMac Metalworks will add an additional 30,000 square feet to the current facility on 1339 E. Fairground Road, and will be used to accommodate the company's 25 percent growth.

“The strong workforce in Marion and in the Columbus Region as a whole has helped fuel our company’s ongoing growth,” said Rod Galbreath, President, CenMac Metalworks. “This investment will enable us to upgrade our capabilities and provide the much needed expansion for this phase of our growth.”

Hiring for production positions will begin in the fall of 2018. You can learn more about Central Machinery Company by visiting their website at: www.CenmacMetalworks.com.
