COLUMBUS — State Senator John Eklund presented a Senate Proclamation this afternoon to a group of students from Chardon High School as part of the Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network Rally. The event, which drew hundreds of teens from across the state, was held to encourage Ohio’s youth to avoid drug and alcohol abuse.

In presenting the proclamation, Eklund told the crowd that, “It would have been easy for these young people to turn to drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with the tragic events of last year. Instead, though, they leaned on each other – and have been a shining example to the entire Chardon community of the strength and resiliency of the human spirit.”
