State Senator Bob Hackett (R-London) today announced the approval of state funds for improvements to the park lodge at John Bryan State Park in Greene County.

“With 752 acres of hiking, fishing and nature activities, John Bryan Park is one of the finest outdoor recreation venues in the region,” said Hackett. “We hope that these facility improvements will serve to enhance the outdoor experience for the thousands of families that take advantage of John Bryan each year."

The Ohio Controlling Board approved the release of more than $37,000 for improvements at John Bryan State Park during Monday's meeting.

Built in 1945, the park lodge has undergone only a few renovation projects, including a roof renovation in 1974 and minor kitchen upgrades in 2014. The project, which includes replacing the existing roof and upgrading the lodge interior, is scheduled for completion by October 31, 2016.
