Senator Frank LaRose accepts Ohio History Leadership Award during ceremony at Statehouse.

Senator Frank LaRose (R-Copley) was presented with the Ohio History Leadership Award by the Ohio History Connection and a consortium of other history-related organizations at the annual Statehood Day advocacy event on Wednesday, March 4th at the Ohio Statehouse.

The Ohio History Leadership Award is recognizes members of the Ohio General Assembly who have distinguished themselves in their public service by being an outspoken advocate for the promotion of Ohio history.

“Senator LaRose came into the Ohio General Assembly with an extensive knowledge of state, local, and world history,” said Burt Logan, executive director and CEO of the Ohio History Connection. “He has shown true leadership to those of us who are involved in promoting and protecting Ohio history, from social studies teachers to local history organizations.”

“An understanding of history is one of the most valuable and necessary things we can pass to our children, and that is why I am so honored to receive this award,” said LaRose. “Ohio has a beautifully rich history, one which I will always strive to preserve and promote.”
