State Senator Frank LaRose (R- Akron) recently recognized the University of Akron men's soccer team on winning the 2010 National Championship, joining State Senator Tom Sawyer (D- Akron) in presenting the team and head coach Caleb Porter with a resolution on the floor of the Ohio Senate. "Coach Porter and his players are winners both on the field and in the classroom, and I congratulate them on bringing home the university's first ever national title," LaRose said. "Each of these young men has much to be proud of, and the Akron community wishes them the same kind of success as they complete their studies and begin preparations for the upcoming soccer season."
