COLUMBUS—Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) yesterday presented a resolution honoring Joey Baughman on being named 2017 Ohio Mr. Football by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. 

"I am proud to recognize Joey for this exceptional accomplishment," said Obhof. "In addition to his impressive record, Joey has displayed integrity, leadership, and dedication to his teammates."

Baughman has broken both school and county records in his two years as starting quarterback at Wadsworth High School. In 2017, he accumulated 3,079 passing yards and 1,523 rushing yards for a combined 56 touchdowns and led his team to a perfect 10-0 regular season. 

In addition to being named 2017 Ohio Mr. Football, Joey was awarded league, district and state offensive player of the year.
