COLUMBUS— The Honorable Mary Katherine Huffman of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas today administered the oath of office to State Senator Jerry C. Cirino (R-Kirtland) marking the beginning of his first four-year term in the Ohio Senate. Today's opening ceremonies also served as the official start of the 134th Ohio General Assembly.
Cirino will serve as State Senator for the 18th Senate District, which includes portions of Geauga and Lake counties and all of Portage County.
"I'm truly honored by this opportunity to serve the people of Northeastern Ohio," said Cirino. "Alongside my colleagues, I look forward to serving my constituents and doing what's right for all Ohioans."
Cirino spent the last four years as a Lake County Commissioner, serving as President for two years, working to create a jobs-friendly environment and a local government that was responsive to the needs and challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Senator Cirino is a retired medical device and distribution CEO and has run companies in a variety of medical specialty fields. He was the founding CEO of SourceOne Healthcare Technologies in Mentor with revenues of $1.2 billion. He brought hundreds of jobs to Lake County and Ohio in his many executive roles. Cirino and his wife Donna reside in Lake County. They have nine children and 34 grandchildren.
