$3.5 Billion Investment in Ohio's Communities, Senator Steve Huffman Secures $1.2 Million for District Projects

COLUMBUS - State Senator Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) today announced the rollout of the state's capital budget, a $3.5 billion investment in Ohio's infrastructure and local community projects.

The legislature generally approves a capital budget every two years, and the bill funds needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, roads and bridges, and mental health and addiction facilities.

Senator Steve Huffman, R-Tipp City secured more than $1.2 Million in funding for multiple projects across the 5th Senate District.

In Miami county, the Troy/Miami Valley Veterans Museum receives a $500,000 investment. Piqua Arts and the Covington Schoolhouse Park each receive $250,000, while the Lock Nine Riverfront Park in Piqua received $150,0000.

“These investments are key to maintaining vibrant communities here at home,” said Senator Huffman, “I’m happy that I was able to secure this funding for these important projects.”

The Preble County Historical Society Restoration and Nature Reserve also received a $240,000 investment.

Darke County



  • Darke County Art Trail $180,000

  • Ward Park Swimming Pool $171,000

  • Greenville Downtown Park $150,000

  • John and Iris Hathaway Education and Community Center $125,000


Miami County



  • Troy / Miami Valley Veterans Museum $500,000

  • Covington - Schoolhouse Park $250,000

  • Piqua Arts – The Bank $250,000

  • Piqua / Lock Nine Riverfront Park $250,000

  • Bradford Railroad Museum $50,000


Preble County



  • Preble County Historical Society Restoration and Nature Reserve $240,000

  • Village of Camden Technology Center $175,000

  • West Alexandria Smith Street Park $100,000
