COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) today joined Governor DeWine for the signing of Senate Bill 1, legislation to better educate high school students on financial literacy, equipping them with the basic financial skills to be successful in life.
"After a long career in banking, I recognize the need for a strong understanding of personal finance," said Wilson, who sponsored the legislation. "I am pleased the Governor signed Senate Bill 1 today to help ensure our students are better prepared for their future."
The new law requires all Ohio high school students to receive financial literacy instruction from teachers who are properly trained in financial literacy.
