Michael J. Skindell (D-Lakewood) was elected to serve Lakewood, Cleveland and Ohio's 23rd Senate District in November, 2010. He comes from the Ohio House of Representatives, where he served four terms as the Representative for Ohio's 13th House District. After graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business and political science from Walsh College, Skindell earned his law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He represented the people of Lakewood as a Councilman at Large between 1998 and 2002.

04.20.16 - Ohio Legislation Calls On U.S. Senate To Do Their Job, Take Action On SCOTUS Nomination

 

COLUMBUS— State Rep. Dan Ramos (D-Lorain) and State Sen. Michael Skindell (D-Lakewood) today introduced companion legislation in their respective chambers to urge the U.S. Senate to consider the nomination of Appeals Court Judge Merrick Garland to the U.S. Supreme Court. The president nominated Garland on March 16, but the U.S. Senate has so far refused to hold hearings to consider his nomination.

11.17.15 - Senator Skindell's Legislation To Name The West Shoreway In Honor Of Governor Celeste Passes Ohio Senate

 

Columbus – Today, legislation to name a portion of the West Shoreway in Cuyahoga County in honor of former Governor Richard Celeste unanimously passed the Ohio Senate.  Senate Bill 49, sponsored by Senator Michael J. Skindell (D-Lakewood) would rename the West Shoreway, State Route 2, as the “Governor Richard F. Celeste Shoreway.” The Celeste family made their home in the neighborhood of the West Shoreway for many years.
