State Senator Sandra Williams, who represents Ohio's 21st Senate District, is currently serving her first term in the Ohio Senate.  Senator Williams is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, where she attended Cleveland Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Criminal Justice Administration from Tiffin University, and Executive Master’s in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.  She is also the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Tiffin University.

06.16.16 - Sen. Williams Congratulates Cleveland For Youth Mentorship Grant Awards

 

COLUMBUS— Today, State Senator Sandra Williams (D-Cleveland) congratulated several organizations in Cleveland that have been awarded grants from the Ohio Department of Education Community Connectors Grant Program for over $1.2 million dollars. The funds will be used to help mentor young people in our community within the age group of 9-18.

COLUMBUS— Today, State Senator Sandra Williams (D-Cleveland) voiced opposition to the passage of House Bill 180, which will eliminate the City of Cleveland’s current local hiring standards, established in the Fannie Lewis Law (2004), which guarantee a certain percentage of city residents’ employment on public construction projects.

 
 

05.04.16 - Senator Williams Testifies On Broadcast Industry Non-Compete Contracts

 

COLUMBUS— Today, State Senator Sandra Williams (D-Cleveland) delivered sponsor testimony to the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Labor Committee on Senate Bill 228, which would prohibit the use of non-compete provisions in employment contracts in the broadcast industry.
