Today, state Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo), who sits on the Unemployment Compensation Modernization and Improvement Council, released the following statement after Cleveland.com reported that the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services agreed to pay more than $200 million to outside contractors, employing more than 1,600 call center agents at rates of up to $59 per hour to respond to the surge of unemployment claims resulting from the pandemic.

Today, state Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) condemned the passage of Senate Bill 215, which would remove almost all requirements for anyone, 21 years of age or older, to carry a concealed handgun in Ohio. The bill, which is opposed by the Fraternal Order of Police, also removes the duty to notify law enforcement that a person is carrying a concealed handgun.
