COLUMBUS— State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) today joined President Trump at the White House for the ceremonial signing of the U.S.-China Phase One Trade Agreement.
The United States and China have reached a historic and enforceable agreement on a Phase One trade deal that requires structural reforms and other changes to China’s economic and trade regime in the areas of intellectual property, technology transfer, agriculture, financial services, and currency and foreign exchange.
China has agreed to make substantial purchases of American manufacturing goods, agricultural products, energy products and services.
"The U.S.-China Phase One Trade Agreement creates a more level playing field for Ohio’s workers, farmers and business owners and will open new markets for products made here in our state," said State Senator Bob Peterson. "I am grateful President Trump has remained steadfast in his commitment to creating opportunities for the hard-working men and women of our state and driving our economy forward."
