Landis Celebrates State Cheer Champions

COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) honored the Dover High School Cheer team in the Ohio Senate for winning the 2025 OASSA Division III State Cheer Championship.
“I am proud to recognize this remarkable group of young ladies, and not only because my granddaughter is one of the cheerleaders,” said Senator Landis. “This accomplishment reflects more than just talent but speaks to the hours of practice, strength of their leadership, and unity of a team that refused to settle for anything less than excellence. Dover High School and the entire community is extremely proud of this remarkable group of young ladies."
The Crimson Tornados won the school's first ever Game Day Team cheer state title in February. The team also placed runner-up in the Large Non-Tumble Team state championship. They were led throughout their remarkable season by coaches Courtney Rees and Samantha Anderson.
In addition to being honored at the statehouse, the team was invited to meet Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine at the Ohio Governor's Mansion while in Columbus.
