Landis Encourages Ohioans to Apply for Legislative Fellowship at Statehouse
COLUMBUS— State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) today announced that the Ohio Legislative Service Commission is accepting applications through April 12, 2024, for its 13-month Legislative Fellowship Program. The commission hires 24 individuals each year to serve in the Ohio General Assembly.
"The fellowship serves as a wonderful opportunity for young professionals interested in getting involved in the state legislature," said Landis. "LSC Fellows have served me and my colleagues well over the years, and I always look forward to meeting them and gaining their insights on how we can address the needs of Ohioans."
Legislative fellows assist members of the Ohio General Assembly with constituent correspondence, writing press releases, performing legislative research, attending meetings, and performing various administrative tasks.
Telecommunications fellows aid in televising Senate and House sessions and committee hearings, as well as in preparing educational video productions about the General Assembly and the legislative process.
Candidates for the fellowship must hold a bachelor's degree before the program starts. There are no limitations placed on major fields of study except for the fellows assigned to the Ohio Channel, who must have a media production or related degree.
