Landis Honors Smithville High School Track and Cross Country State Champion

COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) recognized Smithville High School senior Kaitlyn Carr in the Ohio Senate for being the OHSAA Division III Girls Track State Champion in the one mile and two mile races this past spring as well as recently winning the Division IV Girls Cross Country State Championship.

“Kaitlyn has shown herself to be an exceptional student-athlete,” said Senator Landis. “Her tenacity and dedication has taken her to incredible heights. I cannot be more proud to honor her before the Ohio Senate and I look forward to seeing her have even more success in all of her future endeavors."

Kaitlyn Carr became a two-time Division III track champion this year in the one mile race by winning with a time of 4:49. She then won the two mile event with a time of 10:48. In cross country, she won the Division IV championship with a time of 17:29. 

Kaitlyn has committed to running track & field and cross country at the University of Notre Dame.
