Landis Recognizes Waynedale High School State Championship Baseball Team

COLUMBUS—Today in the Ohio Senate, State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) recognized the Waynedale High School Baseball Team for winning the 2023 Division 3 state championship.

“It was truly an honor to have the Waynedale baseball team as guests at the Statehouse and to present them with a Senate resolution,” said Landis. “Their teamwork and determination have truly been an inspiration to the Apple Creek community and the State of Ohio.”

The Golden Bears beat Harrison Central 10-1 to win the OHSAA Division 3 trophy. This is Waynedale’s second state baseball championship in the past 2 years. The team finished their season 17-9 and entered the post season unranked. They then won 6 of their 7 postseason games by at least 3 runs.
