Landis Secures Major Funding for District Projects
COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) voted for Senate Bill 450, Ohio's Capital Appropriations Bill, which secures $4.8 million for community projects throughout the 31st Senate District.
The General Assembly typically passes a capital budget every two years, funding necessary improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, community projects, and mental health and addiction facilities.
“After working with local leaders and constituents, I'm proud to have secured this funding that I know will strengthen communities across the region,” said Senator Landis. “Whether it's promoting accessibility at parks or investing in the arts at museums and theaters, these projects benefit the lives of the citizens I represent. I look forward to watching these projects have a positive effect throughout the district."
The following are some of the projects awarded funding in Senate District 31:
- Cambridge Community Park - $375,000
- Dover City Park Playground Improvement Project - $300,000
- Seiberling House Museum - $247,000
- Putnam Hill Abolitionist Park Recreation Project - $200,000
- Reeves Museum Outdoor Restorations - $97,000
- Wagstaff Way Trail Improvements - $60,000
- Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County Improvements - $50,000
The Capital Budget also directs $611 million to new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools, nearly $400 million to projects run by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, and over $250 million towards supporting programs overseen by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
