Landis Sworn into Ohio Senate for 135th General Assembly

COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) was sworn into the Ohio Senate during opening day ceremonies today at the Ohio Statehouse. The ceremony marked the beginning of the 135th General Assembly. 

"I am honored to be elected by my constituents to serve the people of this great district and magnificent state," Landis said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Ohio Senate to continue to advance a conservative agenda for the state of Ohio." 

Landis will serve as State Senator for the 31st Senate District, representing the people of Wayne, Tuscarawas, and Muskingum Counties and portions of Guernesy and Stark Counties. He is a native of Tuscarawas County, having been born and raised in Dover.

The senator's career has included 33 years with Greer Steel Company serving as an Inside Sales Rep, a District Representative, and a Sales and Marketing Manager. Landis retired in 2009 to run for the Ohio House of Representatives in 2010. He went on to serve 4 terms, totaling 8 years in the Ohio House.

Landis and his wife Debby have 2 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
