COLUMBUS—State Senator Bob Hackett (R-London) and State Representative Rick Perales (R-Beavercreek), who serve on the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee, today announced that applications are being accepted for one of the available public positions on the committee. Applications must be submitted before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 to be considered.

"Aviation and aerospace is not just a hallmark of Ohio's past, it's an important part of our robust economic future too," said Hackett. "I look forward to working with the members of this committee to ensure that Ohio remains at the forefront of this vibrant, rapidly evolving industry."

The Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee is made up of legislators and various members of the aerospace and aviation community, including military representatives, academic experts, and industry leaders with diverse geographical backgrounds to develop focused policies aimed at enhancing the industry in Ohio. “I am humbled to be appointed once again as Chair for the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee,” said Perales. “This committee was established several years ago to ensure we are taking the necessary steps to enhance our assets and workforce in two major economic sectors — aviation and aerospace. The only way to succeed is to ensure we have diverse representation that will come together and collaborate on how best to move these critical industries forward.”

By law, the committee is required to be composed of three legislators from the Ohio Senate, three legislators from the Ohio House of Representatives, one member appointed by the Governor and 14 public members appointed by the committee’s legislative members to offer expert recommendations.
