Lang Announces Grant for Butler County Water Infrastructure
COLUMBUS - State Senator George Lang (R-West Chester) today announced that a $267,575 grant will be awarded to the Butler County Board of Commissioners for the second phase of a sewer replacement project.
"Infrastructure, particularly water and sewage infrastructure, is critical for economic development and an improved standard of living," Lang said. "Running water, plumbing, and waste management are vital to the growth and vitality of a community, and this grant is an investment in the people and businesses of Butler County."
The grant will be used to replace over 2,000 feet of sanitary sewer on Port Union Road in West Chester Township, benefiting 130 residents.
Funds for the grant come from the fifth round of the Ohio BUILDS (Broadband, Utilities, and Infrastructure for Local Development Success) water infrastructure program. Since its inception, the program has provided nearly $500 million to support 343 local water projects impacting each of Ohio’s 88 counties.
