COLUMBUS- State Senator George Lang (R-West Chester) this week announced that the Senate concurred with House changes to Senate Bill 236 and will now send the bill to the Governor.
"This is a straightforward yet necessary bill that would modernize the way insurers communicate with their customers," Lang said. "As the way we do business continues to shift to online, our policy and laws must also reflect this change in the market."
Senate Bill 236 would enable insurers using an online platform to automatically enroll purchasers of product via electronic methods into electronic communications. Insurance law across the country was originally crafted with only paper communications between service providers and customers in mind.
