Lang Praises Override Of Property Tax Reform Veto
COLUMBUS —State Senator George Lang (R-West Chester) joined his Senate colleagues in overturning one of Governor DeWine's vetoes on property tax reform.
"It was important to my colleagues and I to prioritize property tax relief in the budget," said Senator Lang. "This override will take another step to prevent exorbitant increases in the future. I am proud to have been a part of this vote, and will continue my commitment to ensure Ohio’s property tax framework is sensible for all Ohioans."
Following the passage of the Operating Budget, House Bill 96, Governor DeWine vetoed 67 sections. Among sections vetoed was the restriction of subdivisions to pursue certain types of levies including but not limited to replacement and substitute emergency levies.
Levies currently in place, or on the November 2025 ballot, will not be affected by this restriction.
