COLUMBUS - State Senator George Lang (R-West Chester) today announced that the Senate passed Senate Bill 96, sponsored by him and fellow republican colleague Senator Steve Wilson.

“Senate Bill 96 is a business-friendly bill that continues to move Ohio down the path of being the economic development epicenter of America," said Senator Lang. "This bill will undoubtedly streamline the administrative process for business owners while still informing employees of their rights. In a world where remote & hybrid work is becoming more common, we must ensure that Ohio employers are afforded the flexibility to adhere to requirements regarding posting labor law notices, and utilize the advancements of the 21st century.”

Here is a list of the notices covered by Senate Bill 96:

Ohio’s Minor Labor Law
Ohio’s Minimum Fair Wage Standards Law (minimum wage and overtime
Ohio’s Civil Rights Law
Ohio’s Prevailing Wage Law
Ohio’s Workers’ Compensation Law
Ohio’s Public Employment Risk Reduction Program Law

This bill will allow employees to access such information more easily and will reduce compliance costs for employers who opt to utilize the digital notices instead of printed copies.

The bill now moves to the Ohio House of Representatives for consideration.
