Craig Attends Groundbreaking of Ohio State Extension Center
Today, state Senator and Assistant Minority Leader Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for the remodeling of The Ohio State University’s Department of African American and African Studies Community Extension Center.
“The construction of this facility is emblematic of the dedication and commitment of this University to equity and inclusion, and I am proud to have played a small part in its advancement,” Sen. Craig said. “I helped secure $1 million of appropriations for this construction project to help the Community Extension Center carry out its mission. It has become a resource for student and faculty engagement and is an incredible asset to our community. It is my hope that this revitalized and renovated facility can be a symbol of the powerful work they have done since 1972.”
Ohio State’s African American Community Extension Center, located in Near Eastside, is a space for faculty, staff, and students to engage with the Columbus Community.
