Craig Commends Columbus' Population Milestone

State Senator Hearcel Craig (D-Columbus) welcomed the news that Columbus has a larger population than San Francisco. According the U.S. Census Bureau, Columbus now has 892,533 people, compared with San Francisco’s 883,305.
“I am extremely excited for Columbus and the growth of our city,” said Senator Craig. “It has been one of my top priorities to welcome our new residents and serve those who have chosen to call Columbus their home.”
In 2017-18, only 38% of Ohio’s cities and villages were experiencing population increases. Columbus was the only city in the Midwest to be in the top 15 cities for population growth.
