Craig Commends Passage of Bill to Promote Veterans' Benefits

Today, state Senators Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) and Terry Johnson (R-McDermott) celebrated the Ohio Senate’s passage of Senate Bill 39, their bill to require the creation of a poster highlighting benefits and resources available to veterans that would be available to employers free of charge.

“All veterans in Ohio made the unwavering decision to serve our country in unprecedented circumstances,” said Craig. “We must be equally committed to seeing that they receive these benefits which are crucial to their growth and prosperity after completing their period of service.”

S.B. 39 would require the Director of Commerce, in consultation with the Director of Veterans Services, to create a poster of available services and benefits for veterans. Display of the poster is not required but will be made available free of charge to employers to be placed in a location on the premises that is accessible to all employees.

S.B. 39 now heads to the Ohio House of Representatives for consideration.
