Craig, Smith Introduce Legislation to Create Ohio NAACP License Plate
Today, state Senators Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) and Kent Smith (D-Euclid) gave sponsor testimony on Senate Bill 85, which would create the Ohio NAACP license plate.
“It is an honor to bring recognition to the NAACP,” said Senator Craig. “The National and Ohio chapters of the NAACP continue to be seminal civil rights origination in our country, ensuring significant progress over the last one hundred years and continuing to improve and advance civil and human rights across the state and nation.”
“Founded in the early 1900s, the Ohio Conference NAACP has always worked to eliminate hatred and advance the well-being of all Ohioans,” said Senator Smith. “An Ohio organizational license plate honoring Ohio’s NAACP will remind Ohioans everywhere of the great work they have accomplished and still strive to achieve.”
This legislation enables Ohioans to support the NAACP’s essential mission by not only ensuring that proceeds from the license plates go to the Ohio NAACP, but also by raising awareness of the good work of this organization as the license plates travel roads and highways in Ohio and beyond.
