Today, state Senator Hearcel Craig (D-Columbus) issued the following statement as the nation commemorates the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks:

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens whose extraordinary courage and selflessness defined that solemn day. 25 years later, we continue to hold the families who lost loved ones close in our hearts and prayers. While our nation was shaken by the unconscionable tragedy of September 11, our spirit remained unbroken. May we honor those we lost by renewing our commitment to service, unity, and one another, and by continuing to build a stronger nation for our children, families, and generations to come. We will never forget.
