Craig Statement on Indictment of Adam Coy

Today, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) issued the following statement regarding the indictment of former Columbus police officer Adam Coy, who was arrested yesterday and charged with murder in connection with the death of Columbus resident Andre Hill: “Along with many neighbors in Columbus, I believe the killing of Andre Hill was tragic and unjustified. The Grand Jury’s indictment of former officer Coy is an important step toward justice for Andre. However, it will not heal the deep pain and suffering of his family, loved ones and our community. I will soon be introducing a statewide version of Andre’s Law, which the Columbus City Council recently passed, to help prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again in the state of Ohio.”
