Craig Statement on Police Killing of Donovan Lewis

COLUMBUS – Today, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) issued the following statement:
“I was incredibly troubled to learn about the death of Donovan Lewis, a 20-year-old Black man from Columbus, who was killed in his bed by a police officer. I offer my sincerest prayers and condolences to his family and loved ones.
“While it’s good that this shooting was recorded by the officer’s body camera, we must continue to push for accountability and transparency. I trust that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation will conduct a comprehensive and timely investigation into this serious matter.”
