Craig Sworn Into 136th General Assembly as Assistant Democratic Leader

Today, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) took the oath of office to continue serving in the Ohio Senate during the 136th General Assembly as Assistant Democratic Leader. 

“I am thankful to be re-elected as the Assistant Democratic Leader for our caucus, and I am deeply grateful to my fellow members,” said Craig. “It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Ohio and I look forward to continuing the work of our caucus. I want to thank the people of the 15th Senate District for their support. While it is clear we have significant challenges before us, we also have great opportunities, working together, to improve the lives of families and children in our state.”

Senator Craig is proud to continue serving in his second term in the Ohio Senate, after previously serving in the Ohio House of Representatives and on Columbus City Council from 2007-2014.

Senator Craig is determined to continue his legislative goals by creating affordable and safe housing, as well as lowering the burden of property taxes for families across the state. Senator Craig will continue to focus on creating new jobs, ensuring access to education, and providing affordable access to healthcare. Senator Craig’s top priority is the safety and well-being of the children, families, veterans, and seniors of Ohio. 

Senator Craig will represent Senate District 15, which encompasses Bexley, Brice, Clinton Township (part), Columbus (part), Franklin Township (part), Jefferson Township (part), Madison Township (part), Mifflin Township (part), Truro Township (part), and Whitehall.
