Craig Sworn Into Office as Assistant Minority Leader

Today, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) took the oath of office to serve in the Ohio Senate as Assistant Minority Leader during the 135th General Assembly.

“It is a privilege to continue serving my constituents for another four years,” said Senator Craig. “There is still so much important work to be done to uplift our communities.”

Craig is honored to be serving in his second term in the Ohio Senate after serving as the Assistant Minority Whip in his previous term. Prior to his election to the Senate, Craig served two terms in the Ohio House of Representatives for the 26th District and on Columbus City Council from 2007-2014.

Senator Craig is eager to continue his commitment to public service so he can make meaningful investments in our neighborhoods, creating jobs to expand the local economy and prioritizing education and healthcare focused on children, families, veterans, and seniors.

Senator Craig will represent the redistricted 15th Senate District, which encompasses parts of Franklin County, including Columbus, Franklin Township, Grove City, Hamilton Township (part), Jackson Township (part), Urbancrest, Brice, Madison Township (part) Truro Township (part), Whitehall, Norwich Township, Prairie Township (part) and Valleyview.
