Governor Signs Roegner Bill Entering Ohio into the Social Work Licensure Compact
COLUMBUS—State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) today joined Governor DeWine for the ceremonial signing of Senate Bill 90, her bill to enter Ohio into the Social Work Licensure Compact.
"I am grateful to see this bill signed into law," said Roegner. "Currently, I am fostering two children and have had first-hand experience working with social workers. Their work is important and this bill will remove red tape and open doors to new opportunities for them. I look forward to seeing the impact that this legislation has on social workers in the Buckeye State and those looking to move here."
Senate Bill 90 continues the work done by Senator Roegner to remove burdensome government barriers so that people are free to work in the field for which they are trained. Over the last two General Assemblies, Senator Roegner also sponsored interstate compact bills for nurses (SB 3), occupational therapists (SB 7), physicians (SB 6), physical therapists (SB 5), counselors (SB 204), and several others.
Senate Bill 90 becomes effective August 9, 2024 and makes Ohio the 14th state in country to enact this legislation. To learn more about the bill, visit here.
