COLUMBUS – State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) today received the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious legislative honor bestowed by the NFIB, and has been given to just one Senator each year since 1988. Roegner was chosen for her strong record of fiscal constraint and support of small businesses in Ohio, both in legislation and most recently in Ohio's operating budget. "I strive to make Ohio an attractive place for businesses to grow and thrive," said Roegner. "Ohio's small businesses are the backbone of our state's economy. The American dream is reflected in the hard work and dedication of these entrepreneurs. I am honored to be chosen for this award and I look forward to continuing our work to provide better opportunities for all Ohioans."

From the beginning of her time in General Assembly, Roegner has worked tirelessly to reduce regulations on Ohio businesses, eliminate government red tape and lower taxes for job creators. Some recent work in this area includes:
