Roegner Announces Winners of Annual Art Contest
COLUMBUS—State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) today announced this week announced the winners of her annual art recognition program. During this program, students in the 27th Senate District submit various artworks depicting something that captures the beauty or history of Ohio.
“I look forward to hosting an annual art contest, as it provides a wonderful opportunity to see the unique perspectives each child has. Talent and creativity abounds amongst 4th graders within the 27th Senate District, and their love for our great state is inspiring,” said Roegner. “With ‘Ohio in the United States’ being a 4th grade learning standard for Social Studies, the vast assortment of Ohio’s symbols and heritage included on the artwork each year is also a testament to the skill of our local educators.”
Senator Roegner selected 13 submissions as winners, compiling them into a calendar that is now on display in the 27th District office in Columbus. Calendars were also given to the artists behind the winning submissions, distributed after an afternoon of ice cream and fun Senator Roegner hosted for them and their families. Artwork not selected for inclusion in the calendar was donated to an Ohio Veterans Home, thanking former military servicemen and servicewomen for their sacrifice on behalf of our country.
