Roegner Honors Hoban Mock Trial State Champions

COLUMBUS—State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) honored the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial Team during today's session for winning the 2026 Ohio Mock Trial State Championship.

“This remarkable accomplishment reflects not only academic excellence but also the dedication, discipline, and professionalism these students have shown throughout the competition season," said Senator Roegner. "These young men and women have demonstrated poise under pressure, mastery of legal argument, and a commitment to teamwork that makes the entire State of Ohio proud.”

The state competition, held in March, consisted of the top 25 teams from across the state. After two days of competition, two teams advanced to the final round held at the Ohio Supreme Court. After arguing before a panel, which included Ohio Supreme Court Justice Pat Fischer, the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team won their second consecutive state championship, defeating St. Xavier High School.
