Roegner Honors Local WWII Bronze Star Recipient Jack O. McClure

COLUMBUS—State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) today participated in a special ceremony recognizing Cuyahoga Falls resident, Jack. O. McClure for his service to the country.
PFC. McClure was drafted into the United States Army in 1942, immediately following high school graduation. McClure went on to become a B-25 bomber pilot and in 1944 he served in the “Battle of the Bulge."
For his efforts during "D-Day", the “Battle of the Bulge," and as part of an April 1945 assault force which captured 200 Nazi soldiers, PFC. McClure was awarded the prestigious “Bronze Star Medal” by President Harry S. Truman in April 1951.
To honor his service, Senator Roegner presented PFC. McClure with a State of Ohio flag and an American Flag, both of which were flown over the Ohio Statehouse. Now, at age 96, McClure was honored by Roegner and two local Marine Corps Veterans, Adam Miller and Warren Capps, at his home in Cuyahoga Falls.
"From the revolutionary war to the global war on terror, generations of Americans have stepped up to answer the call of duty in service to our country, defending freedom both at home and abroad," said Roegner. "Jack McClure is one of our exceptional heroes from World War II. It was a privilege to honor him today."
