COLUMBUS—State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) today announced the release of nearly $1 million dollars in state funding to the Stow Armory in Summit county. The funding was approved by the state Controlling Board, a panel tasked with the oversight of state spending.
“I am delighted that the State of Ohio continues to support our men and women in the military. This funding for the Stow Armory, is a tremendous investment for our service members and community,” said Roegner.
Funding released for the project totals $988,478.31 and will be matched by the Army National Guard Facilities Program as part of a state and federal cost share arrangement. This money will be used to replace pavement that was originally installed in 1974 and later repaired in 2001. Deemed to be past its useful life and unable to be rehabbed in a cost-effective manner, seven bids were received to replace the aging pavement and Karvo Companies of Stow was selected to complete the work.
This work is being performed to ensure mission-readiness and will be completed in strict accordance with the Ohio Army National Guard and the Adjutant General’s Department requirements and specifications.
