Senator Roegner Announces Investment In Portage County
COLUMBUS—State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) announces an investment made by the Ohio Department of Development for a project in Portage County.
“I welcome the new opportunities for innovation and growth in the power industry through LayerZero Power Systems’ expansion in the 27th Senate District," said Senator Roegner. "This investment will create over 500 new jobs in Streetsboro, Ohio and add more than $26 million to the local economy. This expansion will encourage prosperity in the region and improve power distribution to multiple industries. I am excited to see how this expansion positively impacts the lives and businesses in Portage County.”
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed and granted tax credits to twelve projects across Ohio, one of which is in the 27th Senate District. This project is:
- LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. expects to create 535 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $26.1 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Streetsboro. LayerZero designs and builds power equipment like switches, power panels, and monitoring systems used by technology companies to ensure computers and servers remain powered safely. The proposed project includes an approximately 120,000-square-foot expansion of the existing manufacturing facility to support increased demand. TCA approved a 1.593 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
