Senator Koehler Announces Over $5 Million for District Projects
COLUMBUS—State Senator Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) voted for Senate Bill 450 yesterday, the state's Capital Budget. The Ohio General Assembly generally approves a Capital Budget every two years, funding needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including recreation, infrastructure, and mental health and addiction facilities.
“Every two years, the State Legislature sets aside millions in funds for capital projects to make quality of life improvements across Ohio,” said Senator Koehler. “This money will be spent somewhere in the state regadless of how you or I feel about these important investments with your tax dollars. During my 10 years in the Ohio General Assembly, my goal has always been to make sure my district gets its fair share. The capital budget voted out today includes $5.5 million for public projects in Clark, Greene, and Clinton counties."
Some of the projects that have secured funding in the 10th Senate District include:
- Champion City Sports and Wellness Center (Clark County)
- Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House (Clark County)
- Emerge Emancipation Project (Greene County)
- Bridges of Hope Shelter Adequacy and Safety (Greene County)
- Wilmington College Agri-Science Complex (Clinton County)
- James Denver Preservation Project (Clinton County)
The Capital Budget also directs over $600 million to new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools and nearly $400 million towards supporting programs overseen by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.
