COLUMBUS—State Senator Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) today encouraged eligible small businesses to apply for grants available through the New Small Business Grant. Small businesses that were established between January 1st, 2020 through December 31, 2020 may be eligible for a grant of $10,000.
"Those who started small businesses over the last year were faced with the incredibly difficult task of operating during a pandemic in addition to the challenges that all new small businesses are faced with," Romanchuk said. "It is my hope that new business owners will take advantage of these relief dollars to create jobs, grow their market and help ease the burden the last year has been on them."
Beginning June 29, 2021, businesses can submit an application at BusinessHelp.ohio.gov. Each business that meets the criteria and submits a complete application will be eligible for a grant in the amount of $10,000. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses that have previously received the Small Business Grant are not eligible.
