Romanchuk, Huffman Introduce Bill Providing $125 Million for Ohio's Bars, Restaurants and Lodging Businesses

COLUMBUS - State Senators Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) and Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City)today introduced new legislation providing an additional $125 million of federal pandemic relief to bars, restaurants and lodging businesses across Ohio.
“Our small business owners, our restaurants and bars have suffered for months from the pandemic," said Romanchuk. "It is imperative that we get these needed dollars to them, as so many of these businesses are on the brink of closing forever.”
To date, more than $2.5 billion in funding has been approved by the General Assembly to be distributed to Ohio’s communities and schools as they emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The funds included in this bill provide direct relief to our businesses in our communities who are emerging from a difficult time,” said Huffman. “I trust my colleagues in the Senate will move quickly on this legislation to continue providing relief to those who need it most.”
Testimony on Senate Bill 108 begins March 9th in the Senate Finance Committee, and a companion bill will be introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives.
