Romanchuk Secures $1.9 Million for Key Richland County Projects

COLUMBUS—State Senator Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) this week voted yes on the state's capital budget, a $3.5 billion investment in Ohio's infrastructure and local community projects.

The legislature generally approves a capital budget every two years, and the bill funds needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, roads and bridges, and mental health and addiction facilities.

Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) secured more than $1.9 million in funding for multiple projects across Richland County.

Also under the bill Ohio State Mansfield will get $1,070,000 for on campus projects, and North Central Technical College will get $1,898,106 for campus projects.

“I am very pleased these projects received funding in this year’s Capital Budget,” Senator Romanchuk said. “These projects will bolster our communities.”

Projects that have secured funding in Richland include:
  • Ohio Bird Sanctuary $600,000
  • Mansfield Regional Behavioral Center $400,000
  • Richland County Agricultural Society Show Arena $200,000
  • Mansfield B&O Trail Connector $150,000
  • Historic Ohio State Reformatory Tour Site Upgrade and Expansion $150,000
  • Mansfield Central Park $150,000
  • Village of Bellville Historic Bandstand Renovations $100,000
  • Mansfield Sterkel Park $100,000
  • Mansfield Art Center Pavilion $50,000
  • Plymouth Mary Fate Park $25,000
The Capital Budget will go to the Governor's desk for signing.
